For our student arts night, I used a Google Form for onboarding with a required waiver checkbox and typed name, then the Autocrat add-on to email each volunteer their shift grid and a QR code for check-in; it made scheduling feel like Tetris instead of chaos. Small caveat: if Wi-Fi gets flaky, keep a one-page printed roster with a timestamp column as backup under the header “waivers before wristbands,” and it saved us during rush.
