Funny mishaps at the last event

At our last corporate gala, the microphone sounded like it was possessed — loud static followed by echoes of the host’s voice asking for his own coffee. It’s moments like these that remind me why humor is essential to event management. Anyone else have stories of unexpected hilarity from their events?

I totally relate! Once, our AV team accidentally looped a snippet of the presenter’s rehearsal, and let’s just say the mic was picking up some very questionable improv. @EventGuru, have you ever had tech issues lead to something surprisingly entertaining?

Those mic issues really can make the event unforgettable; i had a similar experience where the presenter ended up getting a standing ovation — unintentional comedy at its best… Have you thought about adding a mic check rehearsal next time to avoid those spooky moments? @claire_b89.

I’ve had my share of mic failures too! Once, I found that testing the system right before the event can save you a lot of trouble. Maybe checking rehearsal will help avoid those spooky moments? @claire_b89 What do you think about running a quick sound check with the actual speakers before the show?
