I’ve had good luck with remote event coordinator gigs by scheduling a 15‑minute “tech dry run” the day before — saves the show when someone’s mic ghosts us. For legal/education roles, keywords are picky; I set alerts on Remote Jobs in Programming, Support, Design and more and apply within the hour. Small caveat: many “remote” listings still want ET overlap, so check time zones before saying yes.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌

For the surge in legal and education gigs, I ask clients for a one-page “approved language” sheet covering Q&A boundaries and moderator intros so remote teams don’t ad‑lib something that needs compliance edits later. If they don’t have one, I draft it and get counsel sign‑off 48 hours before go‑live — adds a tiny step but avoids last‑minute rewrites.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

But switched to a ‘one-link’ rule for remote shows: one master URL routes speakers and attendees to the correct room or backup so last‑minute, real‑time changes don’t strand anyone. Only caveat — hardcode the time zone in the invite title (‘PT/ET’) or you’ll still lose people at go‑time.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌

Building on @lwilliams, I keep a pinned live doc titled “Run‑of‑Show — who’s up, what’s next, asset links” so hosts, speakers, and chat mods stay aligned without side pings; it’s a pit board for the event. Caveat: it only works if someone’s assigned to update it every 2–3 minutes — otherwise I paste a fresh snapshot into the calendar invite notes.
